Guitar Hero 3 Surpasses $1 billion
The Guitar Hero franchise is huge. How huge? Huge enough that it could practically be considered an industry unto itself.
Edge is reporting that Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock, which launched in 2007, has become the first single game to surpass $1 billion in sales. The announcement came during a CES keynote by Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith, and follows on from an announcement that the entire franchise had broken the same mark a year ago.
Griffith said that Guitar Hero's monumental success has trickled down to other industries, most especially the struggling music industry. According to Griffith, sales on everything connected to Guitar Hero from music to real guitars have gone up.
Street Fighter 4 Console Character Videos In Japanese
For the naysayers hating on Street Fighter 4's English dub, you'll be happy to hear that Street Fighter 4 has a language option in the in-game menu that switches the language from English to Japanese. In our newest set of exclusive Street Fighter 4 videos, we not only play several matches in Japanese, but also demonstrate several awesome combos with Gen and Sakura. Watch the Gen vs. Fei Long clip at 01:45 for a nasty combo showing off Gen's combo potential. Here's a hint: the combo involves a Super attack linked to an Ultra attack, something most characters can't perform. After watching the Gen video, check out the Rose vs. Cammy, and Dan vs. Sakura videos.
Which language option do you prefer -- or fine less annoying? English or Japanese?
